Kemp Town History

Kemp Town History

Kemp Town, Brighton, England was founded by Thomas Read Kemp, a member of the old and widespread Kemp family which had been established locally since the mid-eighteenth century. It was his intention to provide an estate of houses large enough to satisfy the want of well-to-do members of society on their visits to the seaside. Once completed Kemp Town Has had a great many visitors of distinction, William IV and Queen Adelaide often visited, as did Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and the Duchess of Kent. Today Kemp Town is a lively area of Brighton and still a desirable area in which to live. It has a great many attractions, restaurants and public houses which people travel to, to admire and frequent. All of the above brings me importantly to the point of this home Page.
