The Barley Mow is a lively and very popular pub in the heart of Kemp Town. The pub has good feel to it and the helpful landlord and landlady make you feel at ease. The Barley Mow has a core of local regulars who are all-in-all a good crowd. The pub is softly lit and several large plants help give a comfortable air to the establishment. The pub is divided into two rooms of equal size. The rear room is the quieter of the two and a popular place to read the papers on a Sunday.
The Barley Mow is a Courage house selling on draught Old Speckled Hen (real ale), Ruddles (real ale), Courage Directors (real ale), John Smiths (real ale), Guinness, Dry Blackthorn Cider, Holsten, Kronenburg, Fosters, Budweiser, Beamish, and Strongbow. All the beers tried were fine.
Hot and cold food is on offer Monday to Friday, lunchtimes 12.00 am-14.15 pm. All the food is home cooked. A vegetarian menu is available. The Barley Mow has a comprehensive menu competitively priced.
