The Cannon is based in the centre of Kemptown on the corner of St Georges Road and College Place. It has the feel of the 70's inside. There is one large room broken up by several pillars and 'U' shaped seating. It has a reasonable range of beers that are adequate. The landlord and landlady are a young couple who are looking to expand the business. The Cannon's customer base are of the older generation giving a quiet atmosphere, although there are always plenty of folk within.. The pub is friendly enough with a good atmosphere.
The Cannon is a Courage house serving on draught Directors (real ale), Watneys Special Mild, Guinness, Websters, John Smiths, Blackthorn Cider and Holsten. The beers tried were all in good condition.
Hot and cold food is on offer six days a week. On Sunday there are free bar snacks. The Cannons menu is based on traditional bar fare
