The Somerset Arms
The Somerset Arms, St Georges Road, Kemp Town

Host: B.J.Coote

The Somerset is a well established pub in the centre of Kemp Town, tenancy has recently changed and therefore the Landlord was unable to help with much detail on the History of The Somerset. It is a traditional style pub built around two 'L' shaped rooms, decorated with pictures of old Brighton. It is a medium sized establishment. It is very much a locals pub, although the clientele seemed friendly enough.

The Somerset sells Toby and Bass as the draught real ales. In addition there is Guinness, Blackthorn Cider, and Caffreys on draught. The team found the beer adequate.

Food is not on offer as a rule although there are free bar snacks on a Sunday. In addition on a Sunday the landlord puts out a curry on that is free to all customers.
