The Stag
The Stag, Upper Bedford St, Kemp Town

Host: Mr M. Merrin

.

The Stag is a Shepherd Neame public house, the only Neame pub in Kemp Town. It has recently been tastfully re-furbished and several alterations have been made. The main being the creation of a thirty seat plus carvery at one end of the establishment. The pubs shape internally is unusual based on a long 'L' shape. The Stag has interesting fixtures and fittings that blend well into their surroundings. The Stag has a mixed clientele, with the older folk being knowledgable locals. There is a nice friendly atmoshere which we found very pleasant.

The Stag is a Shepherd Neame house selling on draught Spitfire (real ale), Best Bitter (real ale), Steinbock Lager, Hurlimann Lager, Guinness, Abbey Original, Master Brew Mild, and Scrumpy Jack. All the beers tried were in excellent condition. A well kept cellar.

Hot and cold food is on offer seven days a week, lunchtimes 12.00 am-14.00 pm, with an A' La Carte & roast menu (Roast only Sunday lunch) Evenings 19.00pm to 21.00pm, A' La Carte & roast menu. Vegetarians are of course catered for within the well balanced menu's.
